Privacy Policy
Protecting your data matters to us. This website collects as little data as possible: no cookies, no tracking tools, no advertising networks. Below we explain what data is nonetheless processed and what rights you have.
1. Data Controller
The party responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Frido’s Friends e.V.
Gemarkenstraße 12
51069 Köln
Germany
Email: vorstand@fridosfriends.de
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). The transfer of data to the USA is safeguarded by Netlify’s participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF); on this basis, an adequate level of data protection applies to the transfer.
When the website is accessed, technically necessary data is processed in so-called server log files — in particular the IP address, information about your browser and operating system, and the timestamp of the request. This processing is required for the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free provision of the website).
3. Fonts
The fonts used on this website are loaded exclusively from our own server (self-hosted). There is no connection to external font providers and therefore no transfer of your data to third parties. This is a privacy advantage for you: when the fonts load, neither your IP address nor any other data is transmitted to a third-party provider.
4. Donations via betterplace.org
For donations and membership contributions we use the donation platform betterplace.org, operated by the non-profit betterplace.org gGmbH. When you donate via betterplace.org, the data you enter there is processed by betterplace.org gGmbH as an independent data controller. The privacy policy of betterplace.org applies in this respect. Please inform yourself there about the nature, scope and purpose of the data processing before you enter your data.
5. Cookies and Tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools. There is no web tracking, no usage profiles are created, and no advertising networks are integrated. The only exception is the YouTube video described under point 6, which is loaded only after your active click.
6. Video Content (YouTube)
On the “Pater Frido” page we embed a video from YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) using a two-click solution. Before you click the play button, no data is transmitted to YouTube or Google — the video is embedded only as a preview image.
Only when you click the play button — and thereby give your consent — is the video loaded via the domain youtube-nocookie.com. In doing so, your IP address and information about your device are transmitted to Google, and cookies may be set. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF); on this basis, an adequate level of data protection applies to the transfer to the USA. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent given by your click).
7. Contacting Us by Email
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (your email address and the content of your message) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where your enquiry relates to a contract or a membership. We do not pass this data on without your consent and delete it as soon as it is no longer required for the stated purpose.
8. Your Rights
Within the scope of the statutory requirements, you have the right at any time to:
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, an informal message to vorstand@fridosfriends.de is sufficient.
9. Supervisory Authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data. The authority responsible for us is:
State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW)
Kavalleriestraße 2–4
40213 Düsseldorf
Germany
